The webpage will be regularly updated and continue to grow this fall. Materials provided by NCDHHS will encourage parents to go to strongschools.nc.gov for more information. From this webpage, they will be able to find a list of schools participating in the school testing program and links to local school resources. School Testing Parent FAQs Parent FAQs are provided to help answer some of the most common questions we have heard about the StrongSchoolsNC testing program. This resource of FAQs is linked from the strongschools.nc.gov parent hub and will be regularly updated. Ideas to Help Get the Word Out About School Testing In addition to the materials provided in this communications toolkit, please consider additional opportunities to engage families and staff in your school testing program. A few outreach methods to consider include: Issue a joint press release with your testing vendor. This information helps build trust and transparency in the testing process because a question many parents have is “who will be administering the tests?” Host a virtual town hall to answer questions parents may have about the program. Make a video walking viewers through the steps of your school testing program. This helps ensure parents have all the information they need when deciding to participate in the program. Post weekly social media updates about the status of your school’s testing program. For example, letting parents know how many tests were conducted at your school(s) helps ensure your school community stays informed. Send a robocall message to families in your district to talk about why school testing is important. Be sure to let parents know where they can find more information or sign up. Often the best option is an easy to remember webpage (e.g., StrongSchools.nc.gov). Send an automated text message to parents about signing up for your school’s testing program. Be sure to provide a short URL. Prominently feature your COVID-19 testing program on your school’s homepage. Create a landing page about your COVID-19 testing program and create an easy-to-remember URL (e.g., yourschool.edu/covid19testing) for parents and staff to visit when seeking more information. Be sure to let NCDHHS know about your website by emailing K12COVIDtesting@dhhs.nc.gov and putting “COVID-19 Webpage for [Your School District]” in the subject line – we'll link to your page from strongschools.nc.gov. Teen Vax Facts Teenvaxfacts.com is a new webpage launched help ensure teens and their parents have the information, tools and resources needed to educate themselves, their friends and family about the benefits of COVID-19 vaccines.
