Get Free COVID-19 Home Tests
Did you know you can get free COVID-19 home tests? They're easy to use, and rapid home tests give results in minutes. And they detect the currently circulating COVID-19 variants.
You can get up to four free tests mailed to you through COVIDTests.gov this fall.
You may be able to pick up free home tests at a North Carolina organization near you, while supplies last. NCDHHS is partnering with community organizations, called Community Access Points, for test distribution.

Feeling sick and need to test quickly? Get tested and treated at a one-stop Test to Treat site. No health insurance or ID needed.
Want to buy tests with insurance? You may be able to buy rapid tests from a local or online pharmacy using insurance (including Medicaid) or get reimbursed.
Don't have insurance?
- You may have access to free tests through a free nationwide telemedicine program. If you’re eligible, this program—called Home Test to Treat—can ship free tests to you. If you test positive, Home Test to Treat offers free, 24/7 virtual care and treatment for COVID-19.
- You may be eligible to have your COVID-19 vaccine, testing and treatment covered at no-cost by Medicaid. Apply online.
