CVMS Training for Location Managers
CVMS Provider Portal users with the Location Manager profile have additional duties and capabilities beyond those of the Healthcare Provider profile. Location Managers are responsible for managing their account's locations, the inventories at each location, the deprecation events, and any transfers of vaccine. Additionally, if an account chooses to use the CVMS Scheduling Feature, the Location Managers are responsible for setting the available schedule that is visible to the public. The training material below is recommended for all Location Managers to be able to complete your activities within the CVMS Provider Portal.
Create User Accounts For Your Location
After completing Provider Enrollment and creating the initial Healthcare Location Manager user, more CVMS users can be added to your location through the Account Management tab of the CVMS Provider Portal. Additional users can be added individually or in bulk, or you can grant pre-existing users access to your location.

Receive & Manage Vaccine Inventories
Location Managers are responsible for adding, managing, transferring, and updating vaccine inventory records to maintain an accurate count of available doses at their locations. They can also use the Vaccine Marketplace within CVMS to find extra vaccines or offer surplus vaccines.
Add Locations to the Vaccine Site Locator (Vaccines.gov)
The CDC's Vaccine Site Locator (Vaccines.gov) website is the public facing tool that allows residents across the country to locate nearby vaccination sites for the COVID-19 vaccine. Ensuring that all of your locations as a provider are included and accurate on the CDC website will make it easier for recipients to find your location and receive their vaccine.

[OPTIONAL] Invite Recipients to Self-Schedule Their Appointments
Location Managers have the option to enable a scheduling feature that allows recipients to book appointments directly on their own. Recipients who self-schedule their appointments will arrive pre-registered, resulting in faster and easier vaccine administrations. The feature does not require any permissions and can be edited, enabled, or disabled by Location Managers as needed.

[OPTIONAL] Invite Recipients to Register in CVMS
In the event that there are a large number of recipients who need to register in CVMS, Location Managers may use the Recipient Bulk Upload function to add them all quickly. By registering themselves prior to their appointment, recipients can significantly cut down the time spent on the check-in process for healthcare providers on the day of the appointment.
